An Important Update About Hemp Regulations
From the Lumi Team
What's Happening
On Wednesday evening, November 12, 2025, the House passed and President Trump signed into law new hemp regulations that will significantly impact the hemp-derived THC industry. This provision was tucked inside a must-pass spending bill to reopen the federal government after the longest shutdown in U.S. history.
The legislation redefines what qualifies as legal hemp and imposes a 0.4 milligram THC cap per container—a limit that affects nearly all hemp-derived THC products currently on the market, including our Lumi and Microdose products that have helped over 180,000 people. In order to maintain access to our products and to help millions of customers nationwide, we need your help. Please take 3-5 minutes to read this email, get informed, and then contact your representatives.
The law takes effect on November 13, 2026.
What This Means
Under the new law, hemp-derived THC products that exceed 0.4mg of total THC per container will no longer meet the federal definition of legal hemp. This would effectively eliminate most products in the $28 billion hemp industry, impacting thousands of small businesses, farmers, and the millions of Americans who rely on hemp products for health and wellness.
The current law was passed based on misinformation and political maneuvering—senators were told it would only target synthetic products and protect non-intoxicating CBD, but the reality is that over 95% of legitimate hemp products, including most CBD products, contain more than 0.4mg of THC per container.
What We're Doing
We're Continuing Business as Usual
For the next year, we're operating normally. You can continue to purchase the same high-quality, lab-tested hemp gummies you've come to trust. We're committed to transparency, safety, and compliance—and we'll keep you informed every step of the way. We also have many exciting updates launching over the next few months.
We're Fighting Back
Lumi Gummies is joining industry leaders, including the U.S. Hemp Roundtable, to push for regulatory reform. Members of Congress—including Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-VA) and Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley (D-OR)—are working to introduce legislation that would replace the ban with responsible regulations:
- Good manufacturing practices (GMP)
- Truth in labeling requirements
- Age verification and child-resistant packaging
- Bans on synthetic THC
- Strong measures to keep products away from children
We believe regulation, not prohibition, is the answer.
We're Keeping You Informed

→ Tell Congress to fix the McConnell-Harris hemp restrictions
2. Contact the White House
Urge President Trump to protect American hemp farmers and small businesses. Send a message directly to the administration asking them to support regulatory reform instead of an industry-killing ban. Just sign the pre-written letter and submit.
→ Tell the White House to put America first and save hemp
